Don't Say Nowt (and other dreams)
Part 1 of 3

Dreams – the minor transient documents of everyday life. Ambiguous creations that are not meant to be retained or preserved. But if you write them down…

This trilogy of albums is based on fragments of dreams that I have written down.

Recorded between October 2022 and February 2023.
Friday 13th Part 11 recorded on Friday 13th January 2023.

All recordings by Colin Robinson in Hebden Bridge, except:

Field recordings in Donostia–San Sebastián, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Keighley railway station and Sandtoft Trolley-Bus Museum.
Voices by Simon Partridge (in Keighley) and Jim Ramsden (in Bilbao).

Thanks to Roger Trenwith for suggesting the title “Hotel Death of Sausage Soul”.

"Fabulous! I am already enamoured of 'Here Come the Bears'! Great opening ditty." - Zulu Dalek

"A great, lively sound... the drums, the guitars... like a crazy band crammed into a tiny beaten up room and having immense fun under a supervision of Tom Waits!" - Martin Huba

"all that is good and odd as ever" - John Hatch

"As ever, plenty of variety and energy and a definite sense of playfulness." - Jim Ramsden

"Started playing it and had to stop because I'm trying to work. Clearly a work of mad genius." - Alex Stone

"It's a cracker. Like Zappa and Beefheart travelled to Yorkshire to have a bowl of stew and a brew with Bill Nelson. Magical. Come for the tunes, stay for the infinite amp feedback." - Phil South

"With all due respect, you have the rare gift of making quirky and some might say weird music that is highly accessible, contagious, catchy and very musical-and that’s on first listen. A rare gift indeed. I love this release!" - Jeff Eacho

"Top class as usual, nice one. Always enjoy a new release from ye." - Steve Fraser

" Robinson is always up for throwing a spanner in the works, just as the listener is getting comfortable. Rhythmic shifts galore, field recordings, anything to keep himself amused and the outside world slightly baffled. The next two albums will be generative/aleatoric and ambient. Once the project is done, they should be enjoyed as a Gesamtkunstwerk." - Hans Werksman, Here Comes The Flood weblog

"Absolute strong sound! That wakes up. Great." - Dagmar Krause

"Love the first track Here Come the Bears! Masterpiece!" - Jon du Bose

"Very quirky art-rock. They are definitely unlike anyone I can think of." - Guido Fawkes, Through The Looking Glass radio show

"Mytholmroyd Rock City" makes me imagine the members of Kiss, in full costume, sitting round the curry takeaway in Mytholmroyd waiting for their biryanis, before going on to pay homage at Sylvia Plath's graveside." - Neil Ashcroft

"What is amazing about this is the musical diversity - from electronic and cinematic stuff to this crusty AF groovy bluesey super-organic stuff reminiscent of Tom Waits. So the awesome listening journey here continues... Fantastic work Colin!" - Winfried Sitte

"As always, a treat of surrealism and sound" - Tim Saunders

"UK artist Jumble Hole Clough are out with the album "Don't Say Nowt (And Other Dreams)", and progressive rock is the style explored on this production. It is quite the quaint experience we get here, with more than a dozen compositions exploring progressive rock from just about as many angles. 70's funk rock and psychedelic rock, blues and Americana are all among the foundations used for these songs, but what all of them have in common is that they expand considerably from the base elements. A distinctly whimsical attitude is something of a defining trait here, and off kilter instrument and arrangement details is the norm. Unusual tones and timbres come in quick succession, those fond of quirky details have a smorgasbord at their hands here, and those fond of music stretching across boundaries, conventions and traditions are in for quite the joyride. In short, this is a fine example of progressive rock that stays well inside of an avant progressive rock tradition, and those who enjoy this type of music and believe that a very English sounding manner in which to explore such landscapes is a good thing should find this album to be quite the rewarding experience." - progressor.net (Uzbekistan prog rock site)

"Mr. Robinson SIR,
Your Obscuro-Bizarro technique Truly doesn't dissappoint on the first issue= "Don't Say Nowt"
The Track= "You're Filling The Back of My Car With Riot Shields"
is one of my Favorites so far.
I haven't had the chance to Absorb & Hearlucinate to the other Two releases, as of yet, Perhaps this weekend.
Fine FINE Job, Ole Chap!" - Kelrod Kilwalski
