Favorite track: Insomniac.

coleyfantazie Hints of The Residents and Talking Heads while remaining unique to itself, but also reminds me of my late chum Poolord. When I saw the dedications to late friends, I had to buy it in his honour. He would have been so at home with Bandcamp. Favourite track - 50ft Pinky and Perky on first listen.

about

“50-foot Pinky & Perky” is dedicated to the late Mick West, who was an absurdist and a big Pinky & Perky fan.
The late Richard Knutson shares a laugh and a handful of words on “Insomniac”.

All material recorded in Hebden Bridge during 2019 and 2020.
Apart from the clip of Richard, all instruments and voices were performed by Colin Robinson.

Friday 13th part 7 was recorded on Friday 13th December 2019.
Friday 13th part 9 was recorded on Friday 13th November 2020.

I recorded the vocals for “On St.Martin’s Day” on 11th November 2020, which I later found out was St.Martin’s Day – I had no idea. He is the patron saint of beggars and wool-weavers.
St.Martin’s Day was also known as Old Hallowe’en.

"Much absurdist goodness here." - Adrian Slatcher

"I can hear some influences - Pink Floyd David Bowie Peter Gabriel - the unusual sounds and the way the voice is used and the experimental sounds- awesome" - Angela Vowles

"Colin Robinson has done it again! Once again the mix and the sound quality of this album is absolutely stellar. The quirky fun multi-layered music is finally crafted and up to power with anything he's ever done in fact this one is even better." - Michael Inman

"Brilliant stuff" - Craig Manga

"Captain Beefheart meets the guys from Can and Neu! at the Mad Hatter's tea party weirdness … Dadaesque tidbits clash with funk and there is even a slice of jazzy gospel … Robinson's musical restlessness keeps him going and his albums only scratch the surface of the huge amount of music that he creates in his workshop." - Hans Werksman, Here Comes The Flood weblog

"Brilliant stuff. Some reminded of v early Soft Machine. Nice one." - Paul Hewitt

"Great album!" - Alexander DeWolf

"The new album is extraordinary. It's the antidote to ambient. It's like being under dentist's gas in the middle of a church council meeting. It's like sitting in an Amsterdam coffee shop where you imagine the locals are speaking English but they don't make sense, and there are two DJs playing different tracks. It's the sound of Enid Blyton's Wobbly Man and the Mari Lwyd having a bit of a laugh while they decide what they are going to do to you. It's something you think you might have heard but you can't trust yourself. It's the old man in the next bedsit playing spoons and whispering through the wall, but he's dead. It's what follows you down the canal. It's grunting from an empty shed. It's coming round from a dead faint. The sound of prongs and canisters. Rubbery, desperate acts. Things that shouldn't be. I like it, and I'm scared of it. Four and half stars (deducted half a star for stupidness). A Christmas smash." - Alex Stone

"This album is wonderful. Highly recommended." - Wonky Planet Radio Show

"More avant garde soundscapes and refined musical invention from the heart of Hebden Bridge. It sounds like Bill Nelson made a record using shredded BBC Radiophonic Workshop library discs as backing tracks. Constantly surprising, funny, groovy and listenable." - Phil South

13th in the HCFT 'Best of 2020' list - "Musical explorer extraordinaire with a soft spot for the arcane and overlooked things." - Here Comes The Flood weblog

"This is probably Jumble Hole Clough’s finest broadcast yet" - Roger Trenwith, The Progressive Aspect
